Trail Lessons
Recently (like when school went out) my barn was having some problems. The owner of the barn (whats his face eh- brian) was not doing a very good joob of taking care of the horses. They were being fed bad quality hay, no grain, and their water buckets were not being refilled. And to add to that brian fired the person who cleaned the stalls. Beryl (my teacher) could't stand the treatment of the horses so she moved Lily (who she half-leases) to Bridle Trails where we were last year.
Lily is 26 but still going!! Unfortunetly she is too old to canter. Only walk and trot. That sucks becasue I love to canter. It is so much fun!! Last time we took a walk on the trails and troted a little bit. I really wan to canter and do more things in an arena. If you arn't allowed to canter, trails aren't at all that fun. We are still having some problems, last Sunday Beryl didn't arrive at my lesson!
Oh, too bad! I love to see horses canter, but it's okay if they don't. They're still very beautiful!
Is she still in good condition (what she's eating and drinking, now...)? I think she'll like where she's living now!
Posted by: Firepaw at July 17, 2006 12:34 PMThanks for your comment (Its Cooper right??). And to answer your question, Lily is in very good conditon! Although she is 26, she competed in a show last year (I didn't ride her in the show). But as horses age they get some problems with their legs so it is best not to canter. I'll try to get some pictures so you can see her.
